Modu AI Use Policy
Modu’s core ordering, point-of-sale, kitchen, merchant, and delivery workflows do not depend on generative AI making business decisions. This policy applies whenever Modu clearly labels and enables an optional AI-assisted feature.
1. Assistance, not authority
AI output may help draft, summarize, categorize, translate, or suggest content. It can be incomplete or wrong. An authorized person must review output before publishing it, sending it to a customer, changing an order, adjusting a price, issuing a refund, or taking another operational action.
2. Decisions kept with people
Modu does not authorize AI to make final legal, financial, employment, food-safety, eligibility, payment, refund, or customer-rights decisions. Merchants remain responsible for decisions and for verifying facts, calculations, allergens, prices, and regulatory requirements.
3. Data minimization
Do not enter passwords, payment-card details, government identifiers, confidential contracts, health information, or unnecessary personal data into an AI feature. Use the minimum data needed and remove identifying information where possible.
4. Providers and safeguards
If an AI feature uses an external model provider, Modu will identify the feature in the product or applicable documentation and apply available contractual, access, and security controls. Data handling may also be governed by the merchant’s signed agreement and the provider configuration selected for that deployment.
5. Prohibited use
Do not use AI features to deceive people, impersonate someone, generate unlawful or discriminatory content, evade security controls, discover credentials, create malware, infringe rights, or make claims that have not been checked.
6. Reporting and control
Stop using an AI output if it appears unsafe, inaccurate, biased, or exposes private information. Report it to contact@silsal.org. Optional AI features may be limited or disabled when needed for safety, compliance, or customer configuration.
7. Automated access to Modu
Permission to use an in-product AI feature is not permission to scrape Modu or use its software, content, visual design, workflows, or documentation to train or evaluate external models. Automated access to protected areas requires written authorization.
